Zigong Dinosaur Museum

The Dinosaur Museum in Zigong (Chinese自贡 恐龙 博物馆/自贡 恐龙 博物馆, Pinyin Zigong kong long Bowuguan ) is located in the large village Dashanpu (大 山 铺) in Zigong in the central Chinese province of Sichuan. It was founded in 1987 and is the first specialized dinosaur museum in Asia.

In the 1980s, a large amount of dinosaur fossils unearthed in the Dashanpu lineup seven kilometers northeast of Zigong, including one named after the place where dinosaurs Dashanpusaurus. Among the exhibited species are Omeisaurus, Gigantspinosaurus, Yangchuanosaurus, Huayangosaurus and Xiaosaurus.
