Zoë Baker

Zoe Baker (born 29 February 1976 Eckington, North East Derbyshire, England) is a New Zealand swimmer. By the end of 2004, she swam for Great Britain.

Career

In summer 1996, Baker moved to Christchurch, New Zealand to train with Kim Swanwick. After this his coaching career ended in 1999, she began to coach himself. In summer 1999 she was in Sheffield their first European record swim.

2002 Bakers has been the most successful year. She swam four times world record three times on the short course and a long course world record. In addition, they could in their home country, at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, secure the gold medal in the 50m breaststroke.

In January 2005, Baker decided to swim for New Zealand, as they had irreconcilable differences with the coach of the British national team, Bill Sweetenham.
