Africa

Completed in the summer of 2006 Adventure World Africa (opening on July 20, 2006) -based previously among other lions, hyenas, goats, zebras, Somali sheep and Watusi cattle. On 17 September 2005, a young Timber Wolf escaped from the enclosure. After pack and turf battles have developed the Wolf " incredible strength to flee ," said the spokeswoman for the zoo. He jumped over a 3.50 m high sheet pile wall and an electric fence. It was expected that the young wolf resides on a derelict site of the old colliery Count Bismarck, close to the zoo. In an attack by a fellow on 21 December 2005 one of the three Kodiak bear has died. The Zootierärztin suspects that a pairing attempt was the occasion of the dispute between the animals.
