Zsolt Muzsnay

Zsolt Muzsnay ( born June 20, 1965 in Cluj ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach of Hungarian descent. He played a total of 192 games in the Romanian Divizia A, the Hungarian Nemzeti National Championship and the Belgian Jupiler League. He also took part in the World Cup 1990.

Playing career

Muzsnay began his career in his hometown of Cluj at Universitatea Cluj. There he moved in 1983 to the first team after he played at Luceafarul Bucharest from 1982 to 1983. With U Cluj he succeeded in 1985, the rise in the Divizia A, where he finished his debut on March 8, 1986. Then Muzsnay was a regular player. After U Cluj had always placed in the middle, left of the club in 1988 and joined the league rivals FC Bihor Oradea. Here he drew attention to himself with nine goals, so that he is already a year later left Oradea and the Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest joined. With Steaua in 1990 he was runner-up Romanian.

After the 1990 World Cup left Muzsnay Bucharest and joined the Hungarian Nemzeti National Championship, where he Videoton Szekesfehervar joined. Already in 1991 he took the plunge in the West and moved to Royal Antwerp FC in the Belgian Jupiler League. In Antwerp he won, although in 1992 the Belgian Cup, but came on the role of complement player not beyond, so that he was already a year later returned to Székesfehérvár and in 1993 ended his career.

In 1994 he returned once to Székesfehérvár, which ran aground now as Parmalat Székesfehérvár. He was like his second comeback for FC Bihor Oradea in 1998/99 season only a few uses.

National

Muzsnay played six games for the Romanian national football team, but not score. He made his debut on 31 July 1984 against China. He came only sporadically used and was nominated by coach Emerich Jenei for the Football World Cup 1990 in Italy, but did not play.

Coaching career

At the beginning of the 2000/01 season Muzsnay was coach of the second division side FC Bihor Oradea. After the commitment of Lajos Détári he was the assistant coach. As Détári did not appear in time for a friendly match, Muzsnay gave the referee the statement, but to whistle at the game. Thereupon Détári refused to cooperate with Muzsnay further and this had the club soon leave it. By the summer of 2003 Muzsnay coach Crisul Aleşd in Divizia D. was on 9 July 2003, he signed a contract as an assistant coach of Ionut Popa in the first division club FC Oradea and was established in April 2004 as the successor of Dumitru Dumitriu head coach of the club. He could no longer avoid relegation at the end of the season 2003/ 04 and was from the summer of 2004 assistant coach of the new head coach Marian Bondrea. Muzsnay managed the club after his FC Bihor Oradea renamed in the second half of the season 2004/05. He then became manager of Bihoreana Marghita in Divizia D. In October 2006 he was appointed assistant coach of the first division Cristiano Bergodi CFR Cluj. With this he reached the end of season 2006/ 07 the third place in the standings and thus the best placement of the club's history. Nevertheless Muzsnays was contractual relationship ended because Bergodi moved to Rapid Bucharest in June 2007.

From July 2008 to 2010 he was manager of FC organic Paleu with which he indeed was able to win the Season of Bihor County in the League IV in 2010, in the relegation but failed to FC Somesul Ileanda from among Salaj. On 7 February 2011, he took over for a short time training with Unirea Valea lui Mihai, before then the team promotion to the Liga III under head coach Sándor Csúri. In autumn 2011, his coach contract with the fourth division Cetatea Biharia was dissolved and Muzsnay was in October 2011, technical director at Children Paleu - Cetariu, the league rivals in the relay of Bihor County. Four days later, game trainer Ovidiu Lazar was released in the second- and Muzsnay took in November 2011 his place.
