1935 World Ice Hockey Championships

The 9th World Ice Hockey Championships and 20th Hockey Championship took place from 19 to 27 January 1935 in Davos, Switzerland. The competition format was changed compared to the previous year's World Cup. 15 teams took part in this World Cup, which represented a new record. The 15 teams played in the first four preliminary groups ( three groups of four, one group with three teams ). The first two of each group reached the second round. Unlike last year, this time Canada had already compete in the preliminary round and was not set for the second round; the United States did not participate in this World Cup. The third and fourth placed teams from the preliminary round groups played a round of placement to place 9. In the second round, there were again two groups of four teams. The first two of each group reached taking with their direct comparisons of the final round, the remaining teams played for the places 5-8.

In the absence of the United States was the Canadians not to take the eighth world title. Switzerland as the host took the opportunity and won the first runners- and with it their second European title.
