1958–59 NHL season
The NHL season 1958/59 was the 42nd season of the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 70 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Canadiens after a 4-1 victory in the final series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Nine game days before the end of the season took Punch Imlach, the Maple Leafs as a coach. With him, they took a seven -point gap on Rangers and qualified at the last minute for the playoffs.
