1959–60 Football League

The Football League First Division 1959/60 was the 61st season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league. The Burnley FC won a point behind defending champions Wolverhampton Wanderers the second English championship in their history. Both newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday and FC Fulham could get the class; instead had to Leeds United and Luton Town the transition to the Second Division compete. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two newly promoted second division Aston Villa and Cardiff City.

A total of 508 players were used, with the Burnley FC the least and Newcastle United and Chelsea with 29 aufboten 18 most players in league games. 119 newcomers were offset by 130 footballers who most recently came into play in the season 1959/60.

In the following list, all players were listed who came for Burnley in a league game for use during the 1959/60 season. It must be noted that in most cases a minimum number of games will be provided in English football to accept the official champion medal allowed. As regards the specific arrangements prior to the introduction of the Premier League, there is lack of clarity, all the players with an asterisk (*) have been provided which have received no champion medal presumably because of their small contribution. In brackets the number of bets as well as the goals achieved are called.
