1962–63 in English football

The Football League First Division 1962/63 was the 64th season of the Football League First Division as the highest English football league. Everton won his sixth now English championship with six points gap on Tottenham Hotspur. Of the two climbers Liverpool FC and Leyton Orient only the club from Liverpool could get the class; next to Leyton Orient had Manchester City take the course in the Second Division. These two teams should be in the following season replaced by the two second division team FC Chelsea and Stoke City.

A total of 480 players were used, with Leicester City 17 with the least and West Ham United with 27 mustered the most players in league games. 104 newcomers were offset by 100 footballers who most recently came into play in the season 1962/63.
