1987–88 Nationale 1A season

The 1987/88 season was the 66th season of the National 1A, the highest French Hockey League. Master became the second overall time in club history the Mont- Blanc HC. The Chamonix Hockey Club got off to the second division.

Mode

The ten teams completed in the main round each of 18 games. The top six teams qualified for the final round. The top four teams in the final round once again qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. The four last placed the main round had to play in the relegation round, which finished last relegation to the second division. The points from the main round were incorporated into the relegation round. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
