1995 Military World Games

The First Summer Military World Games (official 1st CISM Military World Games ) was held from 4 to 16 September in 1995 in Rome, Italy. The matches were played on the model of the Olympic Games through the World Military Sports Association ( Conseil International du Sport Militaire ).

Participant

A total of 4017 athletes from 93 nations took part in competitions in 17 sports.

Sports

There were competitions in the disciplines of track and field, basketball, fencing, boxing, judo, wrestling, swimming (swimming, water polo, diving, lifesaving ), horseback riding, triathlon, shooting, cycling, volleyball, football, skydiving and Modern Pentathlon, Military Pentathlon and Marine Pentathlon discharged.

To the best athlete of the Games of the Russian swimmer Denis Pankratov was chosen.

Official Sponsors of the games were Coca -Cola, Fiat, Iveco, Arena, IF Ferrovie and Telecom Italia.

Media

The opening ceremony was broadcast live on Rai 3. The press was at the Foro Italico. The infrastructure options were used, which were already set up for the World Swimming Championships in 1994. A total of 20 hours and 25 minutes were the competitions on television broadcast. The organizers registered more than 8.5 million viewers.
