1996–97 WCHL season
The 1996/97 season was the second regular season of the West Coast Hockey League. During the regular season, the six regular WCHL teams contested every 64 games, while a visiting team of Russian hockey players under the name Red Army took consisting against each of the other teams in return game. In the play-offs, the San Diego Gulls prevailed and won the second Taylor Cup in their history.
