2001 World Wrestling Championships
The Wrestling World Championships 2001 found by style separately in different locations. The wrestlers were divided into eight weight classes, while the women competed in six weight classes. Originally, the World Championships to be held from 26 to 29 September 2001 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. 693 athletes from 82 nations had announced their participation. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, the FILA said the event from a week before their commencement of piety and safety reasons. In October 2001, new dates and venues have been announced.
