2002–03 FIS Cross-Country World Cup

The Cross Country World Cup 2002/ 03 began on October 26, 2002 in Dusseldorf and ended on 23 March 2003 in Falun. During the season, the Nordic World Ski Championships were held in Val di Fiemme from 18 February to 1 March 2003.

In the women's overall season was dominated by Bente Skari who played their last active season. The Norwegian secured with 14 individual victories (of 21 competitions ) sovereign victory in the overall standings before the Estonian Kristina Šmigun and the Italian Gabriella Paruzzi. It was the fourth overall victory in the Cross Country World Cup, could win the Skari since 1999. In the men's Mathias Fredriksson won a total of four competitions and won with a clear lead of almost 300 points before the German René Sommerfeldt and his Swedish compatriot Jörgen Brink.

The sprint in the men won Fredrikssons Thobias Tor Arne Hetland before and lauric Pyykönen. In the women's Skari had to defer this vote her compatriot Marit Bjørgen who was able to secure the small crystal globe for the first time. Third place went to Pirjo Manninen.

The Nation's Norway secured with a clear lead of over 3000 points, ahead of Germany and Italy. While the women's competition was won sovereign of Norway ahead of Germany and Finland, the Swedish men secured read just ahead of Norway and Germany.
