First round

The teams of the Axpo Super League and the Challenge League could not meet. The team that was in a lower league, got the home advantage.

Second Round

The teams of the Axpo Super League could not meet. Was a team in a lower league, this was the home advantage, otherwise the erstgezogene team.

Due to conflicts in the first round game between FC Wacker Grenchen all and both teams were excluded from the Swiss Cup. However, the appeal from the FC was all assumed which is thus allowed to participate further in the cup. The game was due to the late decision and a half weeks later than all other games instead.

Last sixteen

The encounters were drawn, everyone could meet everyone. Was a team in a lower league, this was the home advantage, otherwise the erstgezogene team. Since the match between FC Gossau and the BSC Young Boys had to be postponed due to snow and did not possess the stadium Gossau the necessary infrastructure for night games with TV recordings, the game at the Stade de Suisse was discharged. In addition, the game could not thereby be jeopardized by further snowfall. The game between La Chaux- de-Fonds and Lucerne took place in the Maladière for similar reasons.
