Mode
The 33 teams in the league Wysschaja were divided into three conferences before the season according to regional criteria. Had the Western Conference with twelve teams a participant more than the Central Conference of eleven teams and two more than the Eastern Conference with ten teams. First, each team played six games against each opponent within their own conference, so the number of matches per team in the Western Conference 66, in the Central Conference and 60 in the Eastern Conference was 54.
The top eight teams qualified for the knockout stages then the playoffs, in which the second division champion was played out during the following 16 teams started already in the playoff final sixteenth. For a win within regular time each team received three points with a victory after extra two points with a defeat after extra time there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
