2009 Davidoff Swiss Indoors

The Davidoff Swiss Indoors Basel 2009, a tennis tournament, which took place in Basel from 2 to 8 November 2009. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2011 and was held in the indoor hard courts. In the same week the Valencia Open was played in Valencia, who scored just like the Swiss Indoors Basel to Category ATP World Tour 500. The venue of the tournament was the St. James Hall, which is just behind the Basel city limits in Munich stone.

After Roger Federer won the tournament each of the past three years, he was beaten in the final Novak Djokovic, who won the tournament for the first time. In doubles, Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles were to no longer defend the title. In this year's final the top-seeded Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic prevailed in straight sets against the brothers Bob and Mike Bryan.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The total prize money amounted to € 1,225,000, the entire financial liabilities amounted to € 1,755,000.
