2010 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships

The Canoe Slalom World Championships 2010 took place from 8 to 12 September 2010 in Tacen in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The World Championships were organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). Tacen was so after 1955 and 1991 for the third time host the Canoe Slalom World Championships. A total of nine competitions were held, with the men each a single and a team decision in one's kayak K-1, A - Canadian C-1 and twos Canadian C-2 and in women an individual and team decision-making in one kayak K- 1 and a decision in the One - Canadian C-1. The C-1 of the women was the first time an official competition at the World Championships. First, a team decision was planned, but this was canceled and is now being held for the first time in 2011.

The competitions were held in Tacen Whitewater Slalom Course, a canoe park on the river Sava. The competitions were suffering under difficult weather conditions. Due to heavy rains and the resulting floods on the river, the schedule had to be changed several times. On the second day of competition no competitions were held.

Like last year, Slovakia was successful with three gold medals the nation competitions. The German team won four medals in the team's decisions, but could in the Olympic individual decisions win a medal for the first time since the 1999 World Cup.
