2011 North American Soccer League season

The first North American Soccer League season began on April 9, 2011, the start of the regular season and ended on October 29 with the second leg of the final of the play-offs. As the first winner of the Minnesota Stars FC emerged, which was able to win in the final against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

Early 2011, the permission was withdrawn by the USSF to act as a second division of the country. This was due to financial instability of the league. On February 12, the permission was granted on a temporary basis again.

Competition format

The first season starts with eight teams. This first play of the regular season, which has a unit table structure. Overall, each team will play 28 games, which are split into Home and Away games. A team meets four times while on the other team.

The top six teams qualify for play-offs, with the top two teams qualify directly for the semi-finals. The remaining four play from the other two semi-finalists. The semifinals and final will be played in two games.
