2012–13 Swiss Super League
The Axpo Super League 2012/13 was the 116th season of the highest Swiss league for football the men and consists of ten teams. After eight years, the league got a new sponsor, the Raiffeisen Bank. FC Basel was the fourth time in a row and for the sixteenth time overall Swiss champion, three points clear at the Grasshopper Club Zurich. After only two seasons in the Super League of Servette FC had to accept as severed Table relegation.
The Challenge League 2012/13 was the 116th season of the second-highest Swiss league for football the men. At the Challenge League took after the reduction in part ten teams who had all played in the previous season in the Challenge League, as there were no climbers due to the reduction and due to the bankruptcy of Neuchatel Xamax in the previous season and no losers. FC Aarau won the championship with a big lead and went end season in the Super League. Second-placed AC Bellinzona received no end of season game license for the Challenge League and were relegated instead of FC Locarno in the first league promotion.
The first League Promotion 2012/13 was the first season of the newly introduced third Swiss league for football the men. It includes 16 teams. First champion was the FC Schaffhausen, thereby rose for the second time in a row. The four U-21 teams of the League 1 Promotion is all could secure the league. Were relegated to the end of the season FC Fribourg and Yverdon-Sport.

Super League
In the Super League clubs enter the ten four times each against each opponent twice in the local stadium, twice away. In total, each team completed 36 games.
The Barrage is omitted, the last placed athlete gets off in the Challenge League.
Since Switzerland has ventured into the UEFA five year ranking to 14th, the runner-up will also receive the right to start the qualification of the UEFA Champions League 2013 / 14th
Both clubs start in the third round of qualifying. The Swiss champion will be participating in the Champions Route, the runner-up gets the chance to qualify via the Platzierungsweg also for the premier class.

Second round
Of the three groups of the first League Classic take part in each case the group winners, runners-up, and the two best third in the second round. U-21 teams will be excluded, unless a U-21 team from the League 1 Promotion rises, since a maximum of four U-21 teams may participate in the first league promotion. The winners of the matches will qualify for the promotion round.
Promotion round
The winners of the two matches of the promotion round take part in the 2013/14 season at the first league promotion.
