2013 Indian Premier League
The Indian Premier League 2013 was the sixth season of the discharged in the Twenty20 format competition for Indian cricket team and took place between 3 April and 26 May 2013. After the franchise of the Deccan Chargers was excluded for financial reasons, the Sunrisers Hyderabad began participating in the IPL. Opening match and the final were played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In the final, the Mumbai Indians continued with 23 runs through against the Chennai Super Kings.

Venues
Format
The tournament is divided into two phases. In the preliminary round, each team competes against each other in a home and away game, resulting in 72 qualifying matches. There are no points for a win, two for a loss. If no result can be found, both teams get one point each. Event of a tie after the regular number of over the decision a Super Over is performed. The playoffs are played in the Page playoff system. This occurred in a first round in the preliminary round against the first - second and third preliminary round against the - fourth. The winner of the first game is for the finals directly qualified. The losers face off against the winner of the second game, the winner of which in turn qualified for the finals.
Exclusion Sri Lankan players in Chennai
In March 2013, the BCCI decided as a league manager that can participate no Sri Lankan player or official of discharged in Chennai games. This affects a total of 13 players of all teams and two players, Nuwan Kulasekara and Akila Dananjaya, based in Chennai Chennai Super Kings. The Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu where Chennai is located, had asked for this exclusion, calling the ethnic tensions within Sri Lanka with respect to the Tamils as a reason. As a consequence, several franchises called the play-off games that are scheduled in Chennai, deduct from there.
