2013 Shanghai Rolex Masters
The Shanghai Rolex Masters 2013 was a tennis tournament which took place in Shanghai from 5 to 13 October 2013. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2013 and was held outdoors on hard court. In the current season, it was the eighth of nine tournaments Category ATP World Tour Masters 1000th
Defending champion Novak Djokovic was in individual, who began once again this year and was able to defend his title. In the final, he defeated Argentine Juan Martín del Potro in three sets. For Djokovic, this was in the current year already the fifth title and his 39th title in his career. In the doubles pairing Radek Stepanek and Leander Paes won the title last year. While Stepanek did not participate in this year's tournament, Leander Paes played alongside Canadian Daniel Nestor and already retired from in the second round. The tournament was won this year Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo after a three-set victory against the Spanish duo David Marrero and Fernando Verdasco.
The field of the individual competition consisted of 56 players, double that of the competition from 24 pairs. The eight top-seeded player in singles or pairs in double each got a bye into the second round.
