A Little Is not Enough is the third studio album by David Lee Roth.

Genesis

After Roth with the self-produced album Skyscraper could not achieve the same success as his debut album Eat ' Em and Smile, he gave up production again worked together in the hands of an outsider and dedicated Bob Rock, who has already successfully with Mötley Crüe ( Dr. Feelgood ) had, for the task of looking after the shooting.

Steve Vai went to the Skyscraper tour Whitesnake, and Billy Sheehan got out to establish Mr. Big, so that Roth had to also deal with new musicians. He decided instead to separate with a single guitarist, the lead and rhythm parts and dedicated Jason Becker and Steve Hunter on guitar for the band. Successor to Billy Sheehan was Matt Bissonette, the brother of drummer Gregg Bissonette - Roth. Brett Tuggle, who had already played on keyboard skyscrapers, has now added fixed.

The recordings took place in Bruce Fairbairn's Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada); Engineers for the album were Randy dust, Chris Taylor and Brian Dobbs. In addition to the musicians in the band also has a horn section took part. Unlike Roth 'first album A Little Is not Enough contained no cover.

At the songwriting for the album outsiders musicians were involved this time, including Robbie Nevil and former Dio guitarist Craig Goldy.

On MTV U.S., the single A Lil ' Is not Enough short time was relatively successful, as the video clip, the scantily clad women and strangely dressed people of small stature showed a stir and has been controversial. He was therefore taken quite quickly from the radio station's program.

Charts and Awards

A Little Is not Enough reached number 18 on the Billboard 200, the Singles ( Sensible Shoes, Tell the Truth and A Lil ' Is not Enough ) could only be established in the mainstream rock charts, but not on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was awarded on 11 April 1991 in the U.S. with a gold record.
