Aaron Scott (footballer)

Aaron Scott ( born July 18, 1986 in Hamilton) is a New Zealand soccer player. The defensive players took part in 2008 with the New Zealand Olympic team at the Olympic Games in China and was in the squad for the Confederations Cup 2009.

Career

Scott was captain of Waikato FC in the New Zealand Football Championship. In 2008 he moved to the reigning champions Waitakere United, with whom he reached the championship final in his first season, but there Auckland City defeated 1-2. 2010, 2011 and 2012 were followed for three New Zealand championship title in a row. 2010 was Scott with Waitakere also in the final of the OFC Champions League, but it lost to Hekari United from Papua New Guinea. Professionally, Scott has worked as a teacher.

National

Scott led the New Zealand Olympic team as captain to take part in the Olympic Games 2008. During the tournament, he came in all three games as a right-back for use ( in the last as captain ), but the Vorrundenaus could not prevent. End of March 2009, he was nominated for an international game trip to Thailand in the New Zealand national team, while joining his international debut. In May coach Ricki Herbert nominated him as one of three amateurs in the 23- man squad for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa. There he was in the final group match against Iraq in the starting lineup, as the New Zealand national team by a 0-0 for the first time won a spot in the finals of a FIFA tournament.
