History

First, we presented at Aero in 1925 attempts to equip the A.11 with the 450 hp Lorraine -Dietrich, but proved the A.11 - cell to be too weak for this engine.

So we developed in 1926 a new cell, a total greater than that of A.11 and with a larger upper surface of the wing. A.30 When a Skoda engine instead of the originally planned Lorraine -Dietrich was used, but the variant A.230 received the Lorraine -Dietrich.

Due to the defects that appeared during the first test flights, permanent improvements on the A.30 were required; overall it took about a year, until the engineers were satisfied with their construction.

For two months a Aero A.30 was holder of the world record speed for a 500 -mile flight with a payload of one ton. The machine reached in August 1927, an average speed of 213.56 km / h
