Ahmed Kamal (Egyptologist)

Ahmed Kamāl (Arabic أحمد كمال, DMG Aḥmad Kamāl, born July 29, 1851 in Cairo, † August 5, 1923 ibid, Ahmed Kamal Bey ( Pasha ) ) was the first Egyptian Egyptologist.

Ahmed Kamal was a student of Heinrich Brugsch. He was curator of the Egyptian Museum of Cairo and employees of Antiquities. He was responsible for the classification involved the collection of the Museum and when moving from Bulak to Giza ( in the area of ​​today's zoos ) and Midan at- Tahrir. Kamal was involved in the excavations at Deir al - Berscha, Jabal at- Teir, Tihna, Gamhud, Atfih, Meir, Shaykh Said, Asyut and the Nile Delta.
