Ainārs Podziņš

Ainārs Podziņš (Russian Айнарс Гинтович Подзиньш / Ajnars Gintowitsch Podsinsch; * 16 March 1992 in Jurmala ) is a Latvian- Russian ice hockey player who is since January 2013 at Vityaz Chekhov in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Ainārs Podziņš began his career at the age of eight years at the Moscow Youth Teams Severnaya Zvezda ( North Star ) and Belje Medwedi ( polar bears ). As a professional hockey player, he started in the junior department of Krylia Sovetov Moscow. For the first team, he was in the 2008 /09 season his debut in the Wysschaja League, the second Russian league. He has participated in only six games. For the 2010/11 season signed a contract with the Center Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League. Dinamo had a year previously selected him in the KHL Junior Draft 2009 in the third round as the 59th overall player.

Prior to the 2010/11 season, the native of Lette, who grew up in Russia and in the Russian U17 National Team was active, a Latvian passport received. First Podziņš who had learned Russian as their mother tongue, language problems within the KHL teams in the mainly English and Latvian is spoken had. He also came mainly for Dinamo's partner team HK Riga in the multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League used. In the rest of the season he sat down by the KHL team and was in the play- offs for regular players. In November 2011, he completed 3 games for the Russian U20 Junior National Team.
