Aklan State University

The Aklan State University ( ASU) is located in the province of Aklan in the Philippines. It is a state university and is considered an important educational institution in the administrative region of Western Visayas. 2011 8.272 students enrolled at the university in a second semester

Locations

The University is divided into five locations in the communities:

  • The Aklan State University is headquartered at the Pili Avenue in Banga
  • College of Industrial Technology, Campus in Kalibo
  • College of Hospitality and Rural Resource Management, Campus in Ibajay
  • College Teacher Education Center, Campus in Makato
  • College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Campus in New Washington

Faculties

The West Visayas State University hosts various faculties, these are divided into high school and technical college areas, as well as vocational education in colleges. These are colleges of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Arts and Sciences, School of Extension and Community Services, Information and Communication Technology Center, Graduate School, Research Development Services, Teacher Education, College of Veterinary Medicine, School of Management Sciences and above Colleges distributed to the individual campuses.

History

The University's history began in 1917 when the Banga Intermediate School was opened. In the following years, the school was expanded in the training programs, so that already in June 1918, the school was renamed the Capiz Farm School. In 1928, the school was expanded so that the school received a grammar school area and was renamed in Banga Rural High School. 1963, the status of the school was increased and the Aklan Agricultural College opened. In 1966, the first academic study courses were offered to the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture to achieve. In 1992, the status of the colleges increased where it was converted to the Aklan State College of Agriculture. In 1999, the four educational institutions of Roxas Memorial College of Arts and Trades ( RMCAT ) in Kalibo, the Aklan National College of Fisheries ( ANCF ) in New Washington, the Northern Panay Teachers College ( NPTC ) in Makato and the Western Aklan Polytechnic College ( WAPC ) in Ibajay intigriert in the organizational structure of the State Colleges.
