André Hoffmann (speed skater)

André Hoffmann ( born August 11, 1961 in Berlin) is a former German speed skater.

Hoffmann undertook in the 1987/88 season great progress, won among others, the 1500 -meter distance in the World Cup. It was still extremely surprising when he won gold at the Olympic Games in Calgary. He suggested the American Eric Flaim with six hundredths, setting a new world record with 1.52,06 min. For this victory Hoffmann was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold.

For several years, has worked as a coach in the junior area André Hoffmann in Berlin.
