Andrej Hočevar began his career in 2000 at HK Mark INTERIERI, where he completed two seasons before transferring to HDD Olimpija Ljubljana for the first time and played in one of the major professional teams of Slovenia. When the HK Jesenice took in 2006 to his first season in the Erste Bank Hockey League, Hočevar was contracted to form there with the arrivierten Gaber Glavić the Torhüterduo. For the 2007 /08 season the club Robert Kristan brought back from Sweden. Also due to the rather mediocre defensive work but Hočevar could not repeat his performance and was replaced before the playoffs by Matthew Yeats.

After the 2008/ 09 season his contract on the part of HK Jesenice, with whom he also Slovenian champion in the seasons 2007/ 08 and 2008/ 09 was not extended. Once he was a few months without a club, he signed a contract in late 2009 at the Italian first division SG Pontebba, as a replacement for Andrea Carpano as the first goalkeeper since he had to pause for long periods of time because of an injury. In the spring of Andrea Carpano moved to HC Val Pusteria and thus the goalkeeper question was clearly done. Hočevar convinced and led in the meantime to the goalkeeper statistics.
