Andrejs Rubins

Andrejs Rubins ( Russian Андрей Владимирович Рубин; Andrei Vladimirovich Rubin; * November 26, 1978 in Riga ) is a former Latvian football player who last played for Azerbaijani club PFK Simurq Zaqatala and from 1998 to 2011 Member of the Latvian national football team.

Career

Association

Andrejs Rubins began his career in 1996 at the Latvian second division FK Auda. After not a single League game use changed in 1997 to Sweden to Östers IF from the city Växjö. After eleven league games in the Fotbollsallsvenskan he returning in 1998 to Latvia and went to the record champions Skonto Riga. In January 2008 he moved to Azerbaijan for FK Inter Baku. There he succeeded in winning the Premyer Liqasi 2010. In 49 games, he hit nine goals. In 2010 he went to the reigning champions FK Qarabağ Aghdam. Only a year later he moved to league rivals PFK Simurq Zaqatala. After spending a season there, Rubin ended his active career.

National

His debut in the national team he was on 10 November 1998 in the 0-3 defeat against Tunisia. When you win the Baltic Cup 2001 he scored in a 4-1 victory over Lithuania between the temporal equalizer and thus his first international goal. Also in triumph in the Baltic Cup 2003, he met again against Lithuania for the brief 2-0 lead. 2004 succeeded his country reaching the final of the European Football Championship 2004.
