Angus Montagu, 12th Duke of Manchester

Angus Charles Drogo Montagu, 12th Duke of Manchester, while the 15th Earl of Manchester, Viscount Mandeville 15th and 15th Baron Montagu of Kimbolton ( born October 9, 1938 in Kimbolton Castle, Huntingdonshire, † 25 July 2002) was an English nobleman.

Biography

Family

Manchester was the son of Alexander Montagu, 10th Duke of Manchester and Nell Vere Stead. He was the younger brother of Sidney Montagu, 11th Duke of Manchester.

On November 22, 1961, he married in the city of Geelong in Australia Mary Eveleen McClure, daughter of Walter Gillespie McClure of Geelong. The couple separated in 1965, and the marriage was divorced in 1970. From this marriage three children come:

  • Alexander Charles David Drogo Montagu, 13th Duke of Manchester
  • Lord William Kimble Drogo Montagu (1964 )
  • Lady Emma Montagu (1965 )

1971 married Lord Angus Montagu second wife Diane Pauline Plimsaul of Wimborne, Dorset, daughter of Arthur Plimsaul of Corfe Mullen. This marriage ended in divorce in 1985. In 1989 he married his third wife, Anne -Louise Taylor, daughter of Dr. Alfred Butler Taylor of Cawthorne, Yorkshire. This marriage ended in divorce in 1998. On 22 April 2000, he married in the Church of Sweden in Mayfair in London the model Biba Hiller (1942 ). This marriage ended in divorce in 2001. Biba, Duchess of Manchester died on October 11, 2003 from cancer.

Education and work

After primary school in Wales, he attended Gordonstoun, a Scottish private school. This was followed by three years in the Royal Marines. He worked in the oil industry and tourism, as well as a seller of clothing, Barman and " fighter with crocodiles ".

Membership in the House of Lords

After his brother died childless in 1985, Angus Montagu inherited the title of Duke of Manchester and the associated seat in the House of Lords. After the House of Lords Act 1999, he retired again from the Parliament.

Miscellaneous

The Duke was imprisoned in an American prison due to fraud.

Together with photographer Allan Warren founded the Duke the Duke 's Trust, a relief fund for children in need.
