Ansauville

Ansauville is a commune with 85 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Toul, to Canton Domèvre -en- Haye and founded in 1998, community association Côtes de Haye.

Geography

The small community is located at the top Ansauville Esch, a tributary of the Moselle River, about 18 kilometers north of Toul and 22 kilometers south west of Pont-à- Mousson. The bottom relief to Ansauville has only small differences in height. In the south Ansauville has a small share of the overall 5000 ha Forêt de la Reine, in which there are numerous ponds. It is part of the Natura 2000 network with Important Bird Area within the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine.

Neighboring communities of Ansauville are Grosrouvres in the northeast, Minorville in the east, the south and Royaumeix Hamonville in the northwest.

History

Until the 19th century there were in Ansauville an occupied with lay judges Circuit Court, called the court of assizes.

In the church there was a hidden entrance to underground shelters that were used by the inhabitants during the war as a refuge. 1889, the cemetery was created in 1899 by the building of pastors and teachers house.

Between 1800 and 1861 the population of Ansauville was four times as high as today.

Economy

The village is dominated still rural. From once many farms now operate four businesses in agriculture full-time. There are also in place, a bakery and a café.

Traffic

Ansauville is close to the highway from Toul to Verdun ( D 954), more roads leading to neighboring communities Minorville and Hamonville. From Monday to Saturday 400 ( Toul - Pont -à -Mousson ) is Ansauville of the bus R served.
