Anton Schall

Anton Schall ( born June 22, 1907 in Vienna, † August 10 1947 in Basel) was an Austrian football player.

Life and work

Anton sound has long been the most explosive striker in Austria and has been in the years 1927, 1928, 1929, 1931 and 1932 for his club, SK Admira Vienna, Austrian scorer five times. The career began at Anton sound unterklassigen club Leopold Auer SC and finally continued at SK Admira Vienna, for which he was active from 1925 to 1941. In recent years, the trained striker gave also an excellent defender. 1941 ended his playing career sound.

From 1927 to 1934 Anton sound played a total of 28 caps for Austria and was in common with Adolf Vogl the best left wing couple in Austria. The Vienna also belonged to the tribe of the so-called miracle team and was in the era from 1931 to 1933 with 20 goals in 16 matches the top scorer of the Austrians. In 1934 Anton sound with the Austrian national team in the World Cup final tournament.

After his playing career was Toni sound football coach and assisted in the 1946/47 season, the Swiss club FC Basel. Anton Schall, who suffered from a rare heart condition, led the Basel this season for the Swiss Cup victory, but died soon afterwards at the age of 40 years during a workout on the soccer field.

In 1985 in Vienna Floridsdorf ( 21st district ), the Anton- sound - alley named after him.
