Arıcak is a city and capital of the eponymous district in the Turkish province of Elazig. The county Arıcak located in the southeast of the province and borders the provinces of Bingol and Diyarbakir. The city has 3,359 Arıcak and the entire county 15 512 inhabitants (as of 2012).

The former village name was Mirvan. This is derived from the Kurdish word miran ( " Men "). The term " Qerebaxan " is the Kurdish variant of the name of the former administrative unit " Karabegan ", which is due to the same Aşiret. The renaming to Arıcak took place after 1960. In 1972, the three villages Arıcak, Saman and Gümüşyaka were united in a common community. 1987 Arıcak received the status of the district.
