Arrondissement of Libourne

The district Libourne is an administrative district in the Gironde department in the French region of Aquitaine.

History

On 4 March 1790, " Libourne district " established with the founding of the Gironde department also, being the present arrondissement in many parts. On February 17, 1800 from the district was established.

Geography

The district is bordered to the north by the district Jonzac in the department of Charente- Maritime ( Poitou -Charentes ), to the east by the arrondissement of Périgueux and Bergerac, in the Dordogne, on the south by the district Langon, on the west by the district of Bordeaux and on the northwest by the Arrondissement Blaye.
