Artis Lazdiņš

Artis Lazdiņš ( May 3, 1986 in Limbaži ) is a Latvian footballer, who plays for Piast Gliwice in the Polish Ekstraklasa.

Career

Association

Artis Lazdiņš in 1994 in his hometown began his career at FK Limbaži, played in the sequence for the FK Auda in the Latvian capital Riga. After he emigrated with his family to the United States played Lazdiņš 2000-2004 for Chernomorets - USA from New York City. In 2004, back in Latvia, he played his last year in the youth of the FK Auda. From 2006 he played for FK Ventspils, with whom he won the championship as a professional in his second season. Another championship followed in the 2008 season. With the group stage of the Europa League to reach 2009/10 in which it went against SC Heerenveen, Hertha BSC and Sporting Lisbon, he was able to celebrate the largest ever international success of the team. As of the 2010 defensive midfielder played two years for the FK Jelgava from the region Semgallen, by a victory on penalties in the Latvian Cup final against FK Jurmala -VV Lazdiņš won his third title of the career. In September 2012, Lazdiņš signed with Piast Gliwice from the Ekstraklasa.

National

Artis Lazdiņš debuted for the Latvian national football team during the 2010 Baltic Cup against Estonia after he came in to replace Juris Laizāns. For the selection of his native country he came, since 2010, in qualifying matches for the European and World Championships for use. In 2012, he won with the team by two victories over Lithuania and Finland, the Baltic Cup.
