Asterix in Spain

Asterix in Spain ( original French title: Astérix en Hispanie ) is the 14th volume of the Asterix comic series and was published in 1969 in French and German in 1973. It was texted by René Goscinny and drawn by Albert Uderzo.

Action

Julius Caesar has brought quite Hispania under Roman rule, only a small village brings more resistance. Caesar takes the matter into her own hands and rides with a General to the village. Near the village they meet Pepe, the son of the chief, whom they take prisoner. Caesar forces the chief of the village to cooperate, otherwise his son should anything happen.

Pepe is brought to Gaul to the safety of the Roman soldiers. There happen to meet Asterix and Obelix at the travelers rid Pepe and bring him to their village. The Romans unsuccessfully try to get it back. Then they decide to make use of the events no message to Rome, and instead watch the Gallic village to make sure that the boy is not leaving.

Asterix and Obelix decide Pepe to help it to Spain to his native village. You can secretly leave the Gallic village and sail in the fishing boat of Verleihnix to the Hispanic border. Then they pass through a mountain pass and move to the city Pompaelo. There is also happens to be in charge of the hostage Romans Bock Schuster. As Bock Schuster noted that Pepe is no longer in the Gallic village, he tried everything to arrest the boy again. To this end, he disguises himself and accompanied Asterix, Obelix and Pepe on their long journey. As Bock Schuster wants to steal from Asterix the bottle with the potion secretly, he is discovered, flees and is arrested by the Romans. Also Asterix is arrested and they have to fight in the arena with a wild aurochs.

Asterix and Bock Schus be pardoned for their courage. In the meantime, Obelix and Pepe have come to the home village of Pepe. Asterix comes to later.

Asterix and Obelix have fulfilled their mission. Pepe is back home. You return to Gaul and celebrate with a feast. Obelix sings, as he has met in Hispania. Troubadix, which was, as usual, tied up, is amused.

Publication

The story was published on May 22, 1969 in Pilote issues 498-519. The first edition of the book was made in 1969 Dargaud as Volume 14 of the series. For a series in Germany, the story appeared in 1970 in the journal MV Comix in books 8 to 18 The German edition of the book was lyrically modified slightly and appeared in 1973.

The band appeared among others in English, Spanish, Polish and Turkish.
