Asterix the Gaul

Asterix the Gaul ( original French title: Astérix le Gaulois ) is the first comic in the Asterix series, which was written in 1959 by René Goscinny and drawn by Albert Uderzo. The first publication was in the magazine Pilote. In 1967 the comic book of the same name as a cartoon.

The action takes place in the year 50 BC, after the Romans conquered Gaul have completely except for a small village. Only this village whose inhabitants possess powerful forces, makes the Romans resistance. Since the Romans want to know the secret of supernatural forces, they send a disguised as a Gaul Legionnaire, Caligula Minus, a spy in the Gallic village.
