Astrid Strauss ( born December 24, 1968 in Berlin) is a former German swimmer.

Career

In the eighties it was one of the most successful swimmers in the middle distance. It was in 1983 European Champion, as they the title in the 400m and 800m freestyle as well as with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay the GDR won at the championships. Also in the next European Championships, she has experienced more success, in 1986 she became world champion with the 4 × 200 m relay and the 800m.
