Aurelio Tiratelli

Aurelio Tiratelli (* 1842 in Rome, † May 3, 1900 ) was an Italian painter.

1856 Tiratelli was 14 years old student at the Accademia di San Luca in his hometown. At first he was a pupil of the sculptor Pietro Scipione Tadolini and Tenerani and was - along with his teachers - involved in the creation of the tomb of the Messenger of Mexico, Baron Guerra.

Tiratelli later switched from sculpture to painting and was - at the same Academy - Student of the painter Alessandro Capalti, Tommaso Minardi and Francesco Podesti. About the genre and animal painting Tiratelli found then from 1875 to landscape painting.

The painter Cesare Tiratelli was his son.

At the age of about 58 years, the painter Aurelio Tiratelli died on May 3, 1900 in Rome.

Tiratelli found the issues for his whole artistic work in Rome and its surroundings. Despite sometimes implied monumentality, it is characterized throughout by accuracy in the details.
