Austria at the 1928 Winter Olympics

Austria took part in the II Olympic Winter Games in 1928 in St. Moritz with a delegation of 39 athletes, including 34 men and 5 women, in part. Nordic skiing

Austria's representative in the Nordic skiing were the brothers paumgarten from Graz, Salzburg Heinz Hinterauer and Harald Bosio by the National Ski Association for Vienna and Lower Austria. The Olympics were for Austria's Nordic athletes but did not do well. Hinterauer could not participate in the competitions due to angina, the Styrian Fridtjof paumgarten broke in training for jumping in a fall the thigh. In the long- run competition Harald Bosio suffered a Ski break and had to give up in the race lying. In jumping he came up with widths of 51 and 52 meters, at least on the 29th place. Only Harald paumgarten remained of injuries and mishaps spared, but was by then his good form not to react at the competitions.
