The Autostrada A18 (Italian for, A18 ') is an Italian highway in Sicily, which runs from Messina to Catania. She is currently released on 118.3 km to traffic. The northern route takes you from Messina to Catania and is 76.8 km long. Between Catania and Siracusa motorway is interrupted. The southern stretch is currently navigable for a distance of 41.5 km. The plan is to extend up to Gela. The A18 is partial toll road.

The highway has connection with the A19 (Catania - Palermo) and A20 (Messina - Palermo).

The sections

The A18 can be broken due to the different planning and construction phases into three sections.

Section Messina -Catania

This completely built stretch of the A18 with a length of 76.8 km is a toll road.

Catania - Siracusa section

This section is currently managed by ANAS and is designed as a state road SS 114.

Siracusa - Gela section

Between Siracusa and rosolini the highway is currently released on a length of 41.5 kilometers for traffic. The plan is to extend up to Gela. This section is currently 90.2 km long and partially under construction, the rest being planned. The use is in contrast to the remaining part of the highway free. The distance between junctions rosolini and Scicli is currently under construction, and the rest between Scicli and Gela in planning.
