Past and present

From 1893 founded Russian-German resettlers from the European part of the Russian Empire in the area several villages where the German language and culture was passed down in the 1990s and will get stopped.

On October 13, 1991, a referendum whose founding was in the villages, today form the Nationalrajon, held ( German presented at this time in the 16 villages the majority of the population ). With a participation rate of 71 %, 82.7 %, voted for the foundation, which was then decided on 18 December 1991 by the Council of People's Deputies (equivalent Parliament) of Omsk Oblast. As the actual founding date is February 17, 1992, as the chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation Ruslan Khasbulatov ratified this decision. As a result of the disintegration of the Soviet Union initially settled also of German descent from the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan ( Kasachstandeutsche ), Kyrgyzstan ( Kirgisistandeutsche ) and Tajikistan, but also from other parts of Siberia in this area has to offer.

In order to give the Germans in Russia a perspective that supported the German Federal Government Nationalrajon Asovo in many ways. Teachers helped with the teaching of German in schools; Young journalists wrote for the Rajonzeitung your newspaper, roads were asphalted, built or modernized plants. Not all resources, however, were really the simple native population benefit, such as the new " uptown " on the edge of Asovo. With the deterioration of the overall economic situation in Russia in the 1990s, therefore, the departure willingness of German descent grew rapidly. Many of the Germans have since left the Nationalrajon towards Germany, so that the proportion of Germans in the population now has approximately halved.

Many who remained not speak German as their main language more, most come from ethnically mixed families or live in such families. However, the administration of the Rajons attaches great importance to maintaining German culture.
