Balschwiller
Balschwiller ( German Balschweiler ) is a municipality with 816 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in Alsace region of France. Balschwiller is a member of the Association of Municipalities Porte d' Alsace ( CCPA ).
The municipality is situated on the Balschwiller Largue and on the Rhine - Rhône Canal in Sundgau six kilometers north of the canton capital Dannemarie.
History
A first mention of the village there is from the year 728
On September 26, 1972 Ueberkumen was incorporated into Balschwiller.
