Ban Khok District

Amphoe Ban Khok ( Thai อำเภอ บ้าน โคก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north- east of the province of Uttaradit. The Uttaradit Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Nam Pat and the Fak Tha Province Uttaradit and Amphoe Na Noi Na Muen and in the province of Nan. In the east borders Amphoe Ban Khok to the province Sayaburi of Laos.

The main river of the district is Maenam Pat ( Pat- river), a tributary of Maenam Nan ( Nan River ).

History

Ban Khok was on 1 July 1977 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the two Tambon Ban Khok Muang Chet and clay were separated from Amphoe Fak Tha. On August 12, 1987 Ban Khok was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Ban Khok is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 31 villages ( Muban ).

Ban Khok ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน โคก ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Ban Khok.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
