Bang Kaeo District

Amphoe Bang Kaeo ( Thai: อำเภอ บางแก้ว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Phatthalung. The Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 840 kilometers south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula.

Geography

Neighboring districts and territories ( from the south clockwise): Amphoe Pak the Phayun, Pa Bon, Tamot, and Khao Chaisoni in Phatthalung Province and Amphoe Krasae Sin of Songkhla province.

To the east of the county is the shore of the Thale Luang, the northern part of Songkhla Lake.

History

Bang Kaeo was on 1 April 1990 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by three tambon were separated from Amphoe Khao Chaison. On September 7, 1995, he was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Bang Kaeo is divided into three subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 33 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Tha Maduea consists of parts of the tambon Tha Maduea and Khok Sak
  • Mae Khari consists of other parts of the tambon Khok Sak.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
