Mueang Phatthalung District

Mueang Phatthalung ( Thai: เมือง พัทลุง ) of the district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) is the capital of the province of Phatthalung. The Phatthalung Province is located in southern Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts and territories ( from the south clockwise): Amphoe Khao the Chaison, Kong Ra, Srinagarindra and Khuan Khanun in Phatthalung Province and Amphoe Ranot and Krasae Sin in the province of Songkhla.

In the eastern part of the district is the shore of the Thale Luang, the northern part of Songkhla Lake.

History

The county sound Mueang ( Thai: กลางเมือง ) was one of the three original circles that were established in 1896. In 1917 he was in Lampam ( Thai: ลำปำ ) renamed after the community in which the administration was situated. In 1924 the administration was moved to Tambon Khuha Sawan, 1938, the district was eventually renamed Mueang Phatthalung.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Phatthalung is divided into 14 subdistricts ( tambon), which continues in 144 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

The city ( Mueang thesaban ) Phatthalung ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง พัทลุง ) consists of the whole tambon Khuhu Sawan and parts of the tambon Khao Chiak, Tha Miram, Prang Mu, Lampam, Tamnan and Khuan Maphrao.

There are also 13 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
