Tamot District
Amphoe Tamot ( Thai: อำเภอ ตะ โหมด ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Phatthalung. The Phatthalung Province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 840 kilometers south of Bangkok on the Malay Peninsula.
Geography
Neighboring districts and areas (from north clockwise): Amphoe Kong the Ra, Khao Chaison, Bang Kaeo and Pa Bon in Phatthalung Province and Amphoe Palian Trang province.
History
Was Tamot on 1 August 1977 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by being separated from Amphoe Khao Chaison. On March 20, 1986 Tamot was promoted to Amphoe.
Management
Amphoe Tamotist in three subdistricts ( tambon) divided, further in 33 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
There are two towns in the County:
- Tamot ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตะ โหมด ) is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Khlong Yai and Tamot.
- Mae Khari ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ ข รี ) is another small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Mae Khari.
There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
