Belgium national futsal team

The Belgian Futsal national team is a representative selection of Belgian futsal players. The team represents the Belgian football association at international meetings. The team counted in the early phase of the sport among the strongest teams in Europe, with the turn of the millennium, the team slipped off into mediocrity.

Performance in tournaments

At the invitation of the Belgian Football Association FIFA in 1989 despatched a team to the first Futsal World Championship in the Netherlands. The team failed only in the semi-final on eventual champions Brazil in six meter shooting and finished at the end of the fourth. In the next two World Cups (1992, 1996), it was enough for each catchment in the second round, since the World Cup qualifier was missed four times in a row.

Also in the European Futsal succeeded at the first discharge the best result after a 3-2 victory in the match for 3rd place closed to the tournament from 1996 to the bronze space from. Since then, one difference either in the preliminary round of ( 1999, 2003, 2010) or not even qualified for the European Championship finals (2001, 2005, 2007, 2012).
