Beňuš

Beňuš ( until 1927 slovak also " Beňuša "; German Benesch [h ] ow, Hungarian Benesháza - to 1886 Benyus ) a town in central Slovakia with 1177 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2011), which for Okres Brezno, a circle of Banskobystrický kraj heard and the traditional landscape Horehronie is counted.

Geography

The municipality is located in the central part of the valley landscape Horehronské podolie both sides of the river Hron. To the north rises the Low Tatras, while to the south foothills of the mountains Veporské Hills are visible. The 26.78 km ² large municipality is covered by brown forest soils, outside the built-up area usually grows in spruce forests. The center is located at an altitude of 557 m nm and is ten kilometers of Brezno.

Administratively divided the community into four parts of municipalities, these are: Beňuš, Filipovo, Gašparovo and Pôbišovo. Furthermore, was from 1882 to 1957, the current community Braväcovo part of the community.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1380 as Beneshawa writing and belonged temporarily to Banskobystricky mountain chamber. It worked here as a lumberjack or Köhler, in order to supply surrounding mines and cabins can.

1828 were counted 46 houses and 341 inhabitants.

Population

According to the 2011 census lived in Beňuš 1,182 inhabitants, of whom 1,115 Slovaks, 13 Roma, Czechs and one seven Magyar and Serbian. 45 inhabitants did not respond. 1,002 residents pleaded with the Roman Catholic Church, the Evangelical Church of the 13 residents, seven inhabitants to the Greek Catholic Church and 23 inhabitants were of a different denomination. 70 residents were non-denominational and 67 inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.

Infrastructure

The basic infrastructure is partially developed: There are water and gas pipes, it lacks the sewers and connections to a sewage treatment plant. In the resort, a kindergarten and a primary school are established; in addition there is a library and a post office. Through the village the road passes 1st order 66 ( Banská Bystrica, Brezno - Vernár ) and the train station on the railway line Zvolen - Cervena Skala is served by several local trains.
